Hola! I’m Tony and I am the Managing Director of Sami Engineers. I am a civil engineer with extensive experience (+30 years) in all aspects of Auckland water and infrastructure, including managing community infrastructure assets and services including: 3-Waters, Parks, Transport and Property at Waitakere City Council.
I offer a unique set of skills due to my diverse expertise in many fields such as strategic planning, operations and asset management, project leadership, contract management and service delivery.
My approach is to use engineering principles to work with nature not against it, and to ensure that stakeholders are actively involved in decision-making.
I have a proven track record of innovation. For example, to solve flood problems in parts of West Auckland. I was responsible for the purchase of flood prone properties (78 full and 85 in part) through Project Twin Streams. I recently completed a report on Nature Based Solutions for flooding which contributed to the Government’s decision to fund flood recovery in Auckland.
What makes me the best engineer for you?
My vision is to stand as the foremost provider of engineering solutions for Auckland’s flooding problems, consistently delivering exceptional and tailored services. Whether you’re applying to Auckland Council for assistance with your flood affected property or poised to purchase a property and need flood advice, my commitment is to collaborate and propel you towards these goals.
